Why should you help?
According to scientists, the best chance to limit the severity and intensity of climate change is to reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. Not only does this mean that we have to cut down on the emissions that we release, but we also need to remove them from the atmosphere.
Canada is one of over 120 countries that have committed to this goal to keep our planet safe and livable! The year 2050 might sound like it’s a long time away, but there is a lot of work to be done before then! By working together, we can help protect our beautiful planet and make Canada’s climate goal of getting to net-zero emissions by the year 2050 a reality!
Who can join?
All children across Canada!
Did you know...
Project 2050 is named after Canada’s climate goal: net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
What is net-zero? When you add up all the emissions we release into the atmosphere, and then subtract the emissions we remove, it should be at zero.
What do you have to do?
When you join Project 2050, you’ll get access to fun and easy ways for you and your family to contribute to the fight against climate change.
When you Join a Challenge, you’ll get a series of habits that will help you cut your GHG emissions. Log each habit, track goal progress, and earn meaningful rewards along the way! Tip: the more habits you log, the closer we’ll get to reaching our community goal!
Where do I join?
You can join Project 2050 right here or through the Earth Rangers App.
